This blog was formerly dedicated in 2009 to my Dad who died of Alzheimer's in 2013. It's been three years now...and I find myself missing I am re-inventing my blog... because, after all, life is about moving through, and going forward...

Hey, I'm a versatile blogger!!!

What a wonderful surprise I received today!
Debra at

bestowed this wonderful award to me.
Thank you so much Deb!

The rules are:

1. Thank the person who gave the Award to you and link to their blog.

2. Share 7 things about yourself that others may not know.

3. Nominate up to 15 other versatile bloggers who you recently discovered and who you think are fantastic (and link to their blogs too).

4. Let them know about the Award!

(Rules are flexible, in case you're not good with rules!)

7 Things You May Not Know About Me are:

1.  I once worked as a Go Go Dancer in a cage. I worked in a dental office during the day, in the late 60's and I needed a raise, but my chintzy employer would not give me one.  One night while scanning the ads for a part time night job, I ran across the job for Go Go Dancers.  My room mate and I had a good laugh, until she dared me to apply.  I went, I exaggerated and I got the job.  My room mate and I went to Frederick's of Hollywood and bought me a couple glow in the dark bikinis, and then to the yardage store for some snazzy add ons to the bikinis, and scrounged up some body jewelry. The ad offered $3-$5 dollars an hour, depending on experience (that's where the exaggerations came in) and I was paid $5 an hour!  That was a lot of money back in the day!  One of our patients noticed me and my night time work was discovered by my employer, who after raising a fuss, gave me my raise.

2. I am ambidextrous.

3. I absolutely, positively, LOVE going to the movies.  I still get excited when I am waiting for the movie to start.

4. I used to be able to "give the toe" with my middle toe, but now I can't due to foot cramping.

5. I will be 63 years young tomorrow.

6. I can wiggle my ears.

7. I LOVED and was obsessed with horses as a child.  Until I bought one as a teenager with my babysitting money, I had an imaginary Palomino horse with white mane and tail that I would ride home from school. I have always had a vivid and active imagination, but when my Mother was "coffee clutching" on the front porch with some neighbors, and suddenly saw me in full gallop, leaving trails of dust behind me; they began to wonder if it was a bit more than imagination... It was not until I pulled the reins, dismounted, tied my horse up on the porch post and went in the house to get him a carrot, that everyone, including my Mother, knew for sure.

My nominees are: (not in any particular order)

Kelly (September Mom) at

(Constantly Evolving)

(Allison Wonderland)

Oops, I went over by one...but you did say the rules were flexible, right?

Oh wow, Donna, that is such a lovely surprise, thankyou!
That's so funny about the bikinis and the dancing, although I'm sure it wasn't funny for you at the time. And I love how you got your horse.
Now I'm off to read what the others seven things are :)

Too bad the foot cramping has deprived you of that invaluable skill -- I bet it's from all that go-go dancing as a young woman. Did you wear white go-go boots with your bikini ensemble? Those were the days!

Hey - thanks for the award. I'll put it on my imaginary mantle in the trailer!

I am SO impressed that a) you were a go-go dancer, even if it WAS temporary and b) you could give the "toe". Man that should have gone down in the Guinness Book of World Records!

thanks for the award, Donna! so very sweet of you! oh my gosh, I laughed with the story about the go-go dancer. Hey, that was probably very good money and what was the funniest was the patient actually reported you to the dentist, makes you wonder if he was a bit embarrassed to admit he went to places like that! love the horse story too!

thanks again :)

Thanks so much for the award! Those were some really amazing facts and I did not know any of them.
Give the finger with your toe! Hahaha, never even heard of that one. :)

Laoch: Thank you, you are as well. I will check in to read your 7 things.

Caroline: You are so welcome. LOL, yep, those were the days...and thanks for the B'day wishes.

Mari: LOL...I don't know what posessed me to share all that info!

Penny: You are so welcome. Actually, I LOVE to dance, so it was very fun. I was in great shape with all that exercise. Kind of hard to wake up early for the day job though...
I have to admit...the upkeep was a lot more time consuming with the REAL horse!

Debra: LOL!! :) I know!! The "toe" came in handy with my ex-husband! It depended on my outfit...but I got too hot with the boots. My roomie was quite creative with the costumes she designed for me.

Teresa: You are so welcome...can't wait to read everyone's 7 things...thank you for the b'day wishes.

Tabitha: You are so welcome...

Pat: are easily impressed I see...I was in great shape dancing 2 hours, then 45 min break, then 2 more hours and another break.

betty: LOL, I know. It was at the Galleon Room at the Hyatt Hotel on PCH in Belmont Shore/Long Beach area. It was not a naked place, but it was the bar area off the restaurant. I'll never forget the look on both their faces! I had hair down to my waist when I danced, and wore a short, dark frosted wig at the dental office.
Ahhh, the memories of youth...
