I live in Henderson, Nevada…transplanted from California and doing my best to "bloom where I am planted". I have two beautiful, grown daughters who both live in California with their families. My husband and I have a combined family of 8 kids, 11 grand children (with the twelfth due this November, 2016. We also have 13 grand pups and 3 grand kitties in addition to our rescue pup, Izzy. We have been married fifteen years with a large family spread over California, Nevada, Ohio and New York.
Other than being with my family, I am happiest when my "creative juices" are flowing. It makes me feel alive and connected to the universe. Blogging has opened up a wonderful new world for me. I love writing. I have been journaling for over fifty years.
I also enjoy time with friends, reading, beach combing, bargain hunting via yard and garage sales, thrift shopping, movies, theater, music, dancing and walking with Izzy.
For over four years I wrote about my experience as his patient advocate and our family's experiences and feelings toward this insidious disease which slowly stole our Father from us. Dad died August 18, 2013 and was interred with full military honors September 6, 2013. **** I have not deleted the Alzheimer's info, it is at the bottom of my blog, for those of you who need it.****
Many of my blogging friends were very supportive in my writing about my Father, sharing their experiences, their compassion and professional help. I sincerely wish to extend my deepest appreciation from my family and myself to all of you. Thank you so very much.
