Mom got the paperwork from Medi-Cal to re-apply. Guess it has to be done annually. I told Mom to call the front office of the nursing home. I felt certain, since the nursing home is his home now, they could help expedite the paperwork for her. Mom gets freaked out when she has to have Dad sign anything, because he gets so confused and writes everything but his name...often making an X.

I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday's posts in the hopper, but can't publish until I get everyone's permission to post their pictures...just waiting to hear from my sister...(and she hates pictures taken of her...)
So when I post them, go backwards on the dates back to last Friday...March 19th and then go forward, so you can see and read about our weekend...

Today I discovered if I rub Bounce dryer sheets all over
on Izzy's coat,
she smells so very delicious!
****************
Went to the Dentist today.
Since I had a loose bridge.
Turns out I did not get in fast enough,
And the tooth, which had a previous root canal,
Is decayed to the gum line...
He told me it had to be pulled,
but he had no time to do it...
But he had the time to work up estimates for me:
Implants - my cost $7,385.00
new bridge - my cost $1800
He would not consent to
Make me a snap in and out type bridge.
I scheduled a 2nd opinion
Next Tuesday,
With a different Dentist...
Meanwhile, I have a gaping space on
My lower right side
with a exposed dead root hole
that I have to keep food out of,
and HAVE to chew
only on my left side!
Well, this may be just what I need
TO LOSE WEIGHT...

It's great to hear that you got the call on the scratch - maybe they're catching on. I think the Nursing Home should be able to help with the paper work. We help our people with it.
What a bummer about your teeth. Hope you can find a good dentist!
I hope your sister gives you the OK.
I love the dryer sheet suggestion.
The cost of dental work is just beyond reason these days...but if it was 50 or 100 years ago, I'd probably have no teeth left at all by now.
You're wise to get a second opinion on the dental work.
Maybe the X can be used as his signature? I know that that was used for Mary, the lady at the assisted living home. The bank allowed the X to be her signature.
I hope that your mom can get the assistance with the paperwork. It can be daunting!
Can't wait to see all the pictures.
Definitely get a second opinion, or move to a different state! That sounds way too high, though it's not cheap under any circumstance. My son-in-law is a dentist so we get free dental work, except for things like implants for which we'd have to go to a different dentist. I have upper dentures and a bottom bridge, and he made them for me when he was in dental school as his senior project! (I had to pay, but it was reduced.)
A damp dryer sheet also works on the dogs when you're brushing them and have static electricity.
Thanks Mari...thats what I thought too...they should! I have nightmares about losing my teeth, so this IS very traumatic to me.
Jeanie: She did, and then she withdrew her consent for the pic I most wanted to post...oh well...
Me too...I was folding towels and enjoying the scent, and then thought, oooohhh, let me try this on Izzy! I just HATE teeth problems. I am so anal about my teeth. I had this bridge 38 years!
Debra: Yeah...will cost me $50...but I think it is the best thing to do.
Chocolate: Yes, he can use the X.
Mom hates the paperwork more than anything! Make sure you look for the double entry on March 19th...
Wander: You are Blessed to have a Dentist in the family. I may have them not do anything and wait until I get back to Cali...
Good to know about the static electricity with doggies...
Betty: Will have to check and see where you live again...LOL...it was such a fun weekend...
