This blog was formerly dedicated in 2009 to my Dad who died of Alzheimer's in 2013. It's been three years now...and I find myself missing blogging...so I am re-inventing my blog... because, after all, life is about moving through, and going forward...

Mush my little sled dog...

Early morning
 drizzle
 cloud cloaked mountains
biting
 freeze
 upon my face
smiling at this precious pup
prancing and sniffing the brisk air
so cute in her pink sweater
as she lunges
and leaps
with her best sled dog pull.
All is still and quiet
neighbors still warm in their beds
 drinking hot tea or coffee...
wish I had some now...
but we must
do our best
to lighten her energy load
so she will sleep
in her crate
so I can keep doctor appointments
and Christmas shop...
Oh how good
hot chocolate would taste
right now
to warm my numb hands
forgetting my gloves
walk faster
walk faster
past all the Christmas decorations
under the glow of the street lights
up one hill
and down another
 still prancing
and I am finally warming up...
MUSH, my little sled dog
time to go home...

What a cute poem to take us on your early morning freezing walk. Did you knit the pink sweater? I am just about to embark on a similar walk with my dog. Perhaps I need a coffee to go. Thanks for visitng me.

Thank you, thank you Gutsy Writer...but NO, I did not knit the sweater. Got it for $5 at Wal-Mart. Got her a red parka yesterday for when it rains, and it sure came in handy, when it poured rain into the night yesterday. Thank you for visiting me...:}

That's what I thought too when I read this.

Hi Jo and Kimberly....yeah, is is adorable...but you should see her in her new red, parka with snap on fake fur hoodie!!! She loves it and wears it in the house!! Really comes in handy, because without it, she sticks her little head out the back door and comes back in. With the parka, she goes outside because she is nice and toasty. :}
