It sounds like spam or a phishing scheme. Don't reply to it but forward it to google's abuse/spam center with full headers.

It is an attempt to gain control of your account. Google does not need to ask for your password. They already know your password and will send it to you if you request properly. Also there is no reason or incentive for Google to close your account, they make no money from you if it is closed, as such it would be irrational of them to do so. As such you should not respond.

sounds like a scam to me, Donna. I definitely wouldn't provide that information.

Looks like spam to me, I have used gmail for years and have never seen anything like this, not sure I buy that it is from Google, I wouldn't respond to it if it were me.

No, I haven't received anything like this. Sounds like phishing to me -- someone just wants your important personal information, like birth date, for fraudulent purposes. I would ignore it.

Sounds very fishy or phissy to me. I wouldn't do it. I would go to gmail, not through the link provided, and tell them about it. There has been a lot of fraud using well know names google, amazon, ebay, and other.

Don't answer it! My husband said that Gmail doesn't do it that way. So it's spam or a trick!
