I tried calling Dad today and was unable to make contact with him. The nurse told me he was doing well. I will try again tomorrow...
Today was my first attempt to do Face Time with my youngest daughter, her boyfriend and with baby Jacob, on her boyfriend's iPhone 4 and my mac book. Success! It was so fun seeing her new hair do and that sweet baby boy playing with Scout, the learning stuffed dog toy we gave him for Christmas! Oh the wonders of technology!
When we talk on our cell phones, Jacob always wants to talk to me and ends up hanging up. This time, when he could see my face, he kept blowing me kisses and each time he did, made a popping sound with his mouth. I could not stop laughing!
Everyone needs a quiet place...
This blog is dedicated to my Father, who has Alzheimer's. He had to be admitted to a nursing home in June, 2009. I write about our family's experience with him. We choose to see dementia/Alzheimer's as unpredictable weather... Some days are stormy with thunder and lightning, other days are cloudy, cold and rainy, but today is sunny and I feel like a walk on the beach...
Dad's favorite colors are blue and green...The beach is a special place where we made many family memories. Dad was a strong swimmer and loved to swim in the ocean. After his swim, we would carry our buckets and walk with him looking for shells, beach glass and interesting rocks... I love you Dad.

I hear the joy in your voice! How exciting.
:)
I love that!
Hi my friend. Hope you get to catch up with your dad soon. How wonderful that you got to speak to your daughter face to face, and especially for you to actually see little Jacob playing with the toy that you bought him for Christmas. Hopefully you will be able to do that quite often, as I can imagine how much you must miss them.
Isn't Face Time awesome? I use it on my iPad to talk to my brother and parents all the time.
I'm assuming "Face Time" is similar to "Skype". We "Skype" with our granddaughter Lily weekly and we sure enjoy it! She'll ask her mom if she can talk to "Gwama and Papa" on the "puter"?
