This blog was formerly dedicated in 2009 to my Dad who died of Alzheimer's in 2013. It's been three years now...and I find myself missing blogging...so I am re-inventing my blog... because, after all, life is about moving through, and going forward...

The Heavenly Chariot has come...

This morning, at 9am, the Heavenly Chariot came for my Dad and took him to Heaven....

I really have no further words except to thank you all for being so supportive and loving these past four years and one month since Dad went into the nursing home...you all will stay in my heart forever.  I have to pack and get myself to California to be with my Mom, brothers and my sister.

I will write more later...

Thank you so much.

There is a grand reunion happening in heaven! I love to think of your Dad happy and healthy and running with Brutus. :)
There is still sorrow here on earth though. Praying for all of you in the days ahead.

So very sorry for your loss, Donna. I have been following your blog for some time now but do not comment often. I lost my Dad to Dementia, one Aunt was recently diagnosed and remains at home with my Uncle, one Aunt has been in a nursing home for 2 years now, and my cousin just moved her Mom from a home in CA to a home in Texas, close to family as she is battling Dementia. The list goes on and I have passed along information to family and friends because of you and your Dad and your families journey. I am so glad you have had this blog to inform others of so much in dealing with this disease. For now my thoughts and prayers are with you, your Mom and family. May your Dad rest in peace. Darlene

Donna, you and the family are thought of and in my prayers. I have read your blog and followed your dad's journey towards Home. Praying that you all will hold special memories close to your heart to get you through the tough moments. He was definitely a fighter who was courageous every step of the way. ((Hugs))

Donna, I'm so sorry to hear such sad news on my first visit here. You and your family have my deepest sympathy. My dad's birthday was yesterday. He would have been 96 if he'd lived, but he died of cancer at 57. My biggest regret is that he never knew my children and they never knew him. I wish you all the best as you deal with this sad turn of events and hope you'll be back blogging again soon.

So sorry, Donna. I know only too well the grief AND relief that you are feeling. You and your family did such an awesome job of making these past years comfortable for your dad, and now you can all rest assured that there was nothing left undone or unsaid.
