This blog was formerly dedicated in 2009 to my Dad who died of Alzheimer's in 2013. It's been three years now...and I find myself missing blogging...so I am re-inventing my blog... because, after all, life is about moving through, and going forward...

An Excellent Explanation About The Difference Between The Left and Right Sides of The Brain...

It's late...or should I say, early in the morning...and we have big plans today...so I must get at least a few hours of sleep... but I wanted to share the following video...

It is Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, a brain scientist, who, while alone in her apartment,  at the age of 37, had a stroke on the left side of her brain. Being the scientist she is, she found the experience  fascinating and tells us all about it. Her full story is in her book, MY STOKE OF INSIGHT.

I thought this was so interesting, because after watching it, I feel my Dad operated more from his left brain than he did from his right.  Now I feel he is experiencing the wonder of the right side... what do you think?

I had a terrible time leaving a comment this time - I wish they would get this fixed! On the other hand, I can see your followers now. :)
Anyway - I read her book a few years ago and found it very interesting. Most stroke patients have such a change in personality and I think you are right in what you are thinking. It makes sense.

I watched the video via your other Blog just now and it is amazing. That's quite a theory you have about your dad. It's amazing what a human being can do when he or she has to.

Mari: I got your message just fine..but I removed word verification and changed my setting to have a pop up box..I would be interested in discussing what you thought of her book. Was it basically like her lecture?

Thisisme: I know Dad still has the left side of his brain because he can talk and remember us...but he has so much more joy now, and that definitely comes from the right side.

Linda: Yes, is certainly is! Fascinating...

Laoch: Hopefully your comment reflects the gross visual of the brain and spinal stem...and not my post...

Gayle: I think so too...thanks for your input.
