This blog was formerly dedicated in 2009 to my Dad who died of Alzheimer's in 2013. It's been three years now...and I find myself missing blogging...so I am re-inventing my blog... because, after all, life is about moving through, and going forward...

At Last, A Good Visit...Happiness...

Mom and my sister Holly went to visit Dad yesterday, May 27th, on Memorial Day.  After the arrived they had to wait a bit as Dad was getting his shower.  When Dad was dressed and ready, they wheeled him out front of the nursing home where there is a nice patio and lots of Spring flowers.  They parked him so his sun got plenty of warm sunshine and Mom remembered to bring his sunglasses.  He gave each of them a warm smile and told them how good it felt...

Dad Memorial Day, 2013

Dad called my sister by name and cooed to Mom, "his beautiful wife, Lynnie..."  Mom and Holly chatted with Dad filling him in on family events...My sister told Dad about her first grand son being taken to Big Bear for the weekend with his parents and showed Dad pictures.  Dad roared with laughter at the his picture below...

Baby B...my sister's first grand child (boy) decked out for sun and water fitted with his life vest, beanie hat, sunglasses and his "Binkie" (pacifier).

As they talked, Dad dosed and occasionally put his head up and moved his shoulders with pleasure saying how the sun made him feel so good...

What a difference a change of attitude and some warm sun can make in our lives...Once again it reminds me how it is all about the simple and little things in life which make us happiest.
